The Fuquay-Varina Rotary Club is proud to present the first annual Tri The Quay Triathlon as a fundraiser to help eradicate polio worldwide. Please see the "Charity" section below to learn more about this great cause. This promises to be a fantastic annual event at a great venue.

COURSE INFORMATION

SWIM:

The swim is a 300 yard pool swim in Club Worx's outdoor pool. The swim will snake down up and back in each lane as most pools swims are done. Fortunately for all you racers it is a short run from the pool to the transition area.

BIKE:

The bike is a13.5 mile jaunt through the rural roads of Wake and Harnett Counties. It will take you past beautiful horse farms, open fields, and quiet country roads. Although the bike course is classified as rolling, none of the hills are too bad and keep in mind for every uphill there is a downhill. All triathletes will truly enjoy this bike course (Bike Course Map being finalized)

RUN:

The run will begin from the back of Club Worx and cross over into a residential neighborhood. It is an out and back style course with only a couple of minor hills. There will be 3 aid stations along the course and runners will never be more than 3/4 mile away from an aid station. The finish is in a prime location behind Club Worx that has a natural grass hill for specators and a huge playground for kids to play while they are waiting.

Swim Times:

All participants must submit a 100 yard swim time for seeding purposes.
Being a pool swim with a staggered start, participants are seeded from fastest to slowest.
It is in your best interest to submit an accurate 100 yard "pace" time for your 300 yard swim. In other words, don't submit your fastest 100 yard swim time, submit a 100 yard time that represents what you'll do on race day over the 300 yard distance.
By seeding yourself properly, you'll end up swimming near people who swim the same pace as you. This will reduce the number of people who you will need to pass or the number of people who will be passing you.

Changing Swim Times:

Our registration system allows for people to access their registrations and adjust their swim times prior to the race.
NOTE: All swim times must be adjusted no later than Friday, July 30.
After July 30, participants will no longer be able to make this adjustment on their registration (the system will lock out any changes). Swim times will not be adjusted after that for any reason.
